The Windy Boats 29 Huracán Content Lifestyle Photography

A recent lifestyle commission with Windy Boats and Saltwater Solutions. We went out on the water along the Jurassic Coastline for the latest delivery of the Windy Boats 29 Huracán. This particular Windy has been developed as a modern looking sport cruiser combining a spacious, safe and social cockpit and looks stunning on the water, all the features we aimed to capture for this latest content shoot.

Drgnfly Dorchester, Now Open!

In my recent indoor photoshoot at the newly opened Drgnfly situated in Brewery Square, Dorset, I aimed to capture the essence of the culinary experience and the Pan Asian elegant design. In each image I aimed to bring the ambiance and flavors of the Drgnfly to life.

The play of ambient lighting was a bit of a struggle especially as I was unable to use flash in order to not disturb the customers. This was overcome with adjusting the white balance and retaining the stability of how I was taking each image. High ISO and post production was also a big factor in getting this cooler for the Drgnfly aesthetic. Carefully selected angles allowed me to showcase the unique personality of the restaurant, also showcasing the finer details that created a sense of Asia. From the warm hues of the dining area to the subtle highlights on delectable dishes, every detail was meticulously considered to convey the inviting atmosphere of the venue.

I focused not only on the food but also on the moments shared within the restaurant's walls. Candid shots of diners engrossed in conversation, the skillful choreography of kitchen staff, and the interplay of shadows and reflections all contribute to a narrative that goes beyond the plate. Each photograph is a visual tale, telling the story of a culinary journey and the emotions it evokes.

My approach to this photoshoot was to bring this new restaurant to life and to allow the Drgnfly to present a visual experience that goes beyond the palate. The images capture the interplay of textures, colors, and aromas, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the sensorial experience of the restaurant.

Creativity in the Bath.. Fashion photoshoot with model Jessy Cowgirl

A creative moment on the farm with Jessy Cowgirl. This was a test shoot and a creative day with upcoming fashion model Jessy Cowgirl. I met Jessy on a commission for Sara Tiara and couldn’t wait to work with her again. Jessy already informed me of her families Taxidermy collection so we both wanted to factor this in the shoot. I wanted to created a series out of the ordinary but also wanted to reflect Jessy and keeping it natural to reflect her.

I used 2 x B10 Profoto lights to fill in the areas of the bathroom the natural light didn’t hit. The Canon R5 and 50mm was also great in lower light. Placing taxidermy around the bath tub juxtaposed the real life dog and made an interesting composition. What is real and what is stuffed?…

Braving it all. The Silverstone Pomeroy Trophy Photography

“Being first is never easy, a fact known all to well by those who brave the first race of the season on Feb 25th. Notorious for its unpredictability, the weekend weather never disappoints and offers some of the most epic backdrops and racing of the year ahead.” ~ Hoodpin

Working with Hoodpin for the first Silverstone event of the season, the Silverstone Pomeroy Trophy draws out some of the most devoted and enthusiastic racers. “With its long-standing reputation for capricious weather and biting cold, this event showcases true grit and determination.” An excellent opportunity to capture some great storytelling, the grandstands are empty and the sky is usually grey. It is also a very varied mix of cars and characters to start off the season!

It was a day of several different races with a full mix of characters and actions within the paddock and on track. I was a very interesting, yet chilly photography commission to start the race season.

SW1 Street style

SW1 Street style with actor, singer, model, Arteeva.

Test photography shoots are always fun, especially when you want to practice some ideas or just get creative. I was working with Base Models UK in London for this one. I’ve not photographed much street style and I thought shooting in the centre of Pimilco would give us plenty of quiet areas to explore.

My initial plan was to use the private gardens here to have a more ‘outdoors’ vibe and use a model to create a springtime fashion shoot. With some complications, I had to change this plan last minute and use the city environment.

I want to get more into fashion this year so working with Arteeva and Base Models was the perfect opportunity to practice model direction and angles.

Using the Canon R5 and a 35 - 70mm to shoot 3 different scenarios produced a few really pleasing shots. Being winter the light disappeared really quickly that afternoon but we made use of the last few gaps of light.

Low Profiles... Headshots for Solace Global

This turned out to be a very creative project for me. Solace Global, a global security and travel risk management company based in Dorset, asked me to join them in their offices and create a ‘premium look’ series of head shots. These are a few of the results…

Bank Holiday Photography Commission spent at South Deep

I have been working down the beautiful Parkstone Bay Marina in Poole, Dorset for several years with my Photography and Social Media clients Dromeas Yachts UK . South Deep is situated on the Marina’s edge and it was a pleasure to spend the bank holiday weekend photographing fresh portfolio of lifestyle content during the members summer launch night for Jimmy and the team at South Deep.

Goodwood's 79th Members Meeting

A little behind the scenes from the Goodwood 79th Members meeting. I was so excited about attending this event. As a members only event I was expecting a more relaxed vibe than the Goodwood FOS and Revival. This meant more opportunity to photograph in a more ‘chilled out’ environment, a chance to see the event and have a great weekend! I was attending the event as a spectator, but for me, that is when I feel most creative, I see the characters in people when they are so focused on the race, that is what I enjoy capturing ‘What you don’t see’…

Pumped and Exfoliated

5 content filled days in Dubai! Defenders, bikes, new environments and connections turned out to be a great experience. This series was taken from a 6am start in the Desert with Chirenj Chandran and his Defender friends Sandy The Landy. I got in contact with Chirenj through Instagram 3 years ago when I needed advice for my MotoTote Bike Carrier and now managed to hang out and create some great content!

I landed in Dubai with little plans or expectations. I realised how much Instagram has connected me with such amazing people all over the world. I took a spontaneous trip to gather new inspiration and some ‘adventure’.

Milly Mauder Adventures x India Rose Creative

A recent photography commission for British jewellery designer and maker, Milly Maunder based in Devon. Milly makes and designs beautiful handcrafted Granulation jewellery. After learning that Milly created her jewellery being inspired by texture and organic design, I wanted to produce a lifestyle photoshoot to portray just that! Based in the Dorset countryside, it was easy for me to find the right location to conduct this photoshoot with model/artist Amy Balch. Check out the portfolio here

The London Convoy

After being involved with Twisted for several years, I was excited to be invited to create new content photography for the launch of Twisted London.

Malle Mile 2021

No longer in London this year but Grimsthorpe Castle still proved to be a great location to host the Malle Mile 2021…. I didn’t want to capture to much at this event but have some fun and enjoy the event. Here is what I photographed!

Goodwood FOS with Team Penske

This years Goodwood Festival of Speed was dedicated to American Motorsport legend Roger Penske. I was introduced to Roger through Nick Goozee who invited me to photograph Team Penske at this years Goodwood FOS.

“Penske’s attendance comes as the event celebrates “The Maestros – Motorsport’s Great All-Rounders”, a theme consistently exemplified by Roger Penske and his race teams. As a driver, Penske enjoyed success on both sides of the Atlantic, winning in NASCAR and making it to Formula 1. But ‘The Captain’ is perhaps best known as the leader of Team Penske, having achieved unprecedented success across a number of motorsport disciplines, including INDYCAR, NASCAR, Trans-Am, sports cars, Australian Supercars and Formula 1.” ~ Goodwood.com

The Goozée Garage...

Nick Goozée has been a family friend for a long time. With similar interests in photography and cars, I have spent a good amount of time with Nick in Dorset, learning and admiring the stories he has told and his wise knowledge that I am yet to experience.

‘Tucked away in his garage is XK140 Jaguar - a car that inspired the beginnings of Nicks motorsport career. Nicks grandfather, Harold Goozée, was a racing enthusiast and lifelong admirer of Coventry built machinery. He competed in Scottish tours, the RAC Rally and more. There was a number own cars owned by Harold Goozée but one that had stuck in Nicks memory was a battleship grey XK140 fixed head coupé that had been purchased on 26th October 1956. “He didn’t believe in cleaning it at all” Nick said.

Nick fell in love with motorsport after his grandfather took him to the races at Crystal Palace. The first race Nick attended was Easter Monday at Goodwood, “I was the tea maker”. Nick eventually began his career with Roger Penske, becoming the teams general manager in 1983 and the managing director five years later!

During Nicks period away working, the Jaguar XK140 was passed down to his father and then later in 1988, the Jaguar became Nicks. Nick then made the decision to send it away and give it some love and care and returned to Nick in 1994 and has been beautifully looked after ever since.’

I finally got the chance to photograph Nick and his pride and joy after he was approached by Classic Car magazine. I was invited on the photoshoot not far from either of our homes in Dorset. More details of Nicks Jaguar XK140 can be found in the latest edition of Classic Car magazine.

Bike Night at Locket Fuel

An evening spent at Locket Fuel! A recent content commission to kick start a new weekly event at Ashley Automotive, Bournemouth, Dorset. Head down every Thursday night for cool bikes, cool cars and a tasty hog roast!

The Dorset Cider Makers

This is a recent commission with Dorset Nectar Cider Company! As a local company based near Bridport, Dorset, I have known The Strong family for a long time. We have remained in contact as local cider suppliers to the family business Your Village Stores

Ryan at Dorset Nectar Cider got in touch after recent developments at the farm and looking for a collection of brand new content to help push Dorset Nectars visual presence and promote the new changes happening in the business.

With so many parts of the Cider making process to cover, I wanted to make sure the full story was captured as also the new developments such as cider tours, tastings and the new tasting room and shop.

The full fit-out

Another ‘behind the scenes’ maritime video of a recent fit out that took place for my regular content creation clients at Saltwater HQ. Last month we helped our friends at @the_boat_club with a full new fit–out of a @yamahamarineeu 175hp on their @zodiacribs!

Creating the right content for your brand

A project for me is about finding a story within every commission I receive from a brand or business. I want to focus on telling that untold story, capturing those pieces of development that go into a business. The effort of work that your customers don’t see when you sell them a product is, for me, the most important part of content creation. It’s more how a business gets to the end result than the end result itself. Having a background in marketing and content management, I can really see an importance in content creation that brings a product to life. My work is majority lifestyle photography, selling a product in an environment that helps to create a story.

The art of marketing is prompting your customer to think and act in a certain way. My approach when working with brands is to do this by capturing attention to detail and the ‘behind the scene’ energy that changes the mindset of the viewer. Instead of appreciating a clean end result, I want them too appreciate the work and craftsmanship that got the clean end result. This then creates an emotional response in a viewer and gives them a sense of trust and personal attachment to a brand as they have now understood and witnessed the ‘whole story’ of your brand or business.

My own content creation example of this for India Rose Creative was created by Rob Aldous during a recent project with @peggyporschenofficial. This is a behind the scenes video lets my viewers see how I work and a little more insight about me rather than focusing on the my end result, the photography.

Content Creation with Herald Motor Company

I met the team at Herald Motor Company last year at the Malle Mile where I got the chance to test out the Herald Maverick. A year later I got back in touch as I was super excited about creating a series of lifestyle content with a collaboration with my Defender and MotoTote Carriers. Based in the Dorset countryside, I headed back to one of my favourite shooting locations to get a series of track and trail photographs as well as a short film - filmed by Max Bartholomew
