14 days, 1343 miles and 40 hours on the road. An American dream adventure, learning new skills and taking a moment to break away from the normal. Unforgettable memories and content photography opportunities spent driving around North America in an Indie Campers Thor Motor Coach Four Winds RV. Starting in Seattle to begin our road trip and start the first leg of our route. Quite quickly we realised, this was the perfect vehicle to be comfortable, spacious and live in for 14 days, it had everything we needed apart from clothes washing facilities. The only little frustration is how quickly the waste filled and the water emptied but it was minor and didn’t stop the adventures. We were self sufficient in this vehicle for most of the time, staying in road side, wild areas and then when needing to fill up and empty waste we search for cheap RV parks with dump stations. Being 24'1" long and 11' high, this Ford RV was sometimes difficult to park in regular campsites, instead, we had to find RV parks that catered for Class C Motorhomes every few days.

As well as exploring, I was working with Nite Watches for the second outdoor content trip of the year. Taking their Hawk, Alpha and MX10 range for both Male and Female. Our trip endured both adventure and every day to demonstrate how the watches can be used, be mission accurate, and have a durable case and an easy-to-read large dial to suit our content trip. We designed a route exploring a variety of landscapes and terrains, capturing some of the most popular viewpoints as well as hidden gems. I have wanted to explore the ‘unknowns’ of North America at this time of year for as long as I can remember. The landscape promises amazing peaks, light and adventurous conditions, and I was excited to create some dramatic stories.

Starting in Seattle and heading West to Olympic National Park for the first leg of our adventure. We decided to complete the whole loop of the Olympic National Park following Route 101, taking us 3 days to complete with regular stops at key points of our interest such as the Hot Rainforest, Forks and the Tree of Life. We also had a huge day of hiking on one of the days here. The trail to the Colonel Bob summit is located in dense rainforest layered with a hall of amazing moss trees. We gained over 4200 feet in 7.2 miles. It wasn’t a popular path, we didn’t cross any other hikers all day so our anxiety levels for bears and cougars was quite high.

As well as exploring dramatic rock formations, National Parks and mountain peaks we took our hand to learn how to fish. With fishing tours proving to be fully booked and very expensive we stopped by a local outdoor store. We spoke to a very helpful store member who kitted us out with everything we needed to fish for ourselves later on in our trip. We moved South towards Portland and found a couple of fishing lakes and fire spots to eat what we caught. This was also a great opportunity to photograph outdoor lifestyle content for Nite Watches.

Overall, day 2 of fishing we picked up a lot of rainbow trout which we bought back to our van and gutted and cooked on the outdoor fire. We really felt like we were at one with nature and really enjoyed our time here.
